KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8 — Five out of the 60 sub-strategies outlined under the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) 2024-2028, covering education, public accountability and enforcement, have been successfully implemented since its launch in May last year.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said that under the education strategy, the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Course Module had been introduced as a compulsory course for all students of higher education institutions to provide them with exposure to the issue of corruption and its negative impact on society and the nation.
“The Duta Sahsiah Kit launched by the Education Ministry on November 25 last year helps foster the value of ‘karamah insaniah’ among students.
“In addition, in line with the aspirations of the National Education Philosophy, themed weeks on ethics, moral values, and anti-corruption have been included in the school academic calendar to educate students from an early stage,” it said in a statement today.
The MACC added that focus was also given to strengthening the integrity of civil servants through the implementation of the Governance, Integrity, and Anti-Corruption Strengthening Module to cultivate a culture of good governance in government organisations by emphasising the involvement of all levels in ministries, departments, and agencies.
