SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 — Selangor FC has handed over its 2026 plans to head coach Katsuhito Kinoshi.
Selangor FC chief executive officer Johan Kamal Hamidon said Kinoshi will evaluate players’ performance to ensure the Red Giants’ readiness for next season.
“Since being appointed, he (Kinoshi) has not only been getting to know the existing squad, but also other Malaysian League teams to evaluate the need to bring in other players.
“In two months, the club will work to identify which players will be kept and which ones will be let go,” Johan said when contacted.
He said his office is looking to enlist club talent scouts to find the best players for the main squad.
“Their project is to help us find suitable players to absorb into Selangor FC.
“This includes a talent scout from American club Minnesota United FC. Talks with him are ongoing,” Johan added.
Kinoshi was appointed Selangor FC head coach in November to replace Nidzam Jamil, who resigned suddenly the previous month.
Ex-Japan coach Kinoshi is said to be someone with vast experience who has great depth of knowledge about the game and strong leadership qualities.
