SHAH ALAM, Jan 5 — Selangor’s recent post-flood contribution to Kelantan reflects the former’s compassion and transparency in leadership, transcending political differences between the two state administrations.
Commenting on the matter, political analyst Associate Professor Dr Mazlan Ali said the move proves that the welfare of the people remains a priority, rising above ideological divides.
“The good relationship between Selangor and other states, including Kelantan, can yield positive outcomes for the people.
“Public interest could be pushed forward through collaborations in various areas, particularly economic-related ones. For instance, many Kelantanese work and earn a living in Selangor,” he said when contacted yesterday.
Mazlan added that the initiative not only reflects a high sense of humanity but also highlights the openness of the Selangor government.
On January 2, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari handed over RM500,000 in aid to the Kelantan government to help alleviate the burden on flood victims.
The contribution was presented to Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud at his official residence in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
