SHAH ALAM, Jan 1 — The state has recorded a final revenue for 2024 amounting to RM2.858 billion, the highest in its history, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.
This figure also surpassed Selangor's previous best collection in 2017, which stood at RM2.811 billion.
“Yesterday, while resting in the final hours of 2024, I was informed that the state’s final revenue for 2024 reached RM2.858 billion (129 per cent of the target),” he said on X (formerly Twitter) today.
Selangor's expenditure performance in 2024 showed 98.07 per cent for management expenditure and 97.18 per cent for development expenditure.
“This achievement is undoubtedly the result of close cooperation between the state government, the private sector, and the people, guided by the dynamic policies of the state and Federal governments.

“Alhamdulillah, we are grateful to the Almighty for His blessings, and all praise to the Prophet Muhammad, the bearer of mercy to the worlds,” Amirudin said.
He also extended his New Year 2025 wishes to the people of Selangor, expressing hope that the experiences gained over the past year would help improve the quality of life in the days ahead.
Selangor collected RM2.7 billion in revenue in 2023, RM2.5 billion in 2022, and RM2.3 billion in 2021.
Previously, the Menteri Besar said he believes Selangor’s excellent revenue performance was due to positive economic growth and aggressive investment inflows.
He added that the success was also contributed by the opening of new areas, development, manufacturing, data centres, and centres of excellence that are rapidly expanding in Selangor.
