SHAH ALAM, Dec 27 — Two siblings from Selangor made the nation proud by winning the prestigious Skill Master Award at the MakeX Robotics Competition held in China, early last month.
Muhammad Adam Mikhael Azziddin, 11, and his sister Putri Qayreen Sofia, 9, received the awards after securing 15th and 18th place, respectively, in the final stage of the competition, which featured 262 participants from around the world.
Jazro Robotics Academy chief executive officer Dzulfarqeish Zainuddin said the achievement of the students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Kajang, who joined the academy last year, marks a significant improvement from the national representative’s 28th-place finish in the previous edition.
“This achievement goes beyond personal success; it showcases the immense potential of young Malaysians when provided with the right educational opportunities.
“At Jazro, our mission is to nurture young minds and turn curiosity into innovation. This global recognition proves that with proper guidance and exposure, our children can excel on the international stage,” he said in a statement.
He said before competing in Shenzhen from December 6 to 8, Adam secured first place in the Inspire category at the national MakeX competition, while Qayreen claimed second place.
“This robotics competition offers invaluable experience that extends beyond technical skills, developing critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation.
“This achievement highlights the progress of our nation’s efforts in advancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. It also strengthens Jazro’s commitment to driving growth as a catalyst for future innovators,” he said.
