SHAH ALAM, Dec 24 — The state government will collaborate with the National Registration Department (JPN) to cross-check the beneficiaries of the Khairat Darul Ehsan scheme.

State executive councillor for social welfare and women empowerment Anfaal Saari said the initiative aims to ensure the RM1,000 aid is channelled to the rightful beneficiaries.

“We will discuss it with JPN first, as the agency possesses the relevant data.

“The process is somewhat technical, but InsyaAllah, we aim to complete it by June next year,” she stated during the 'Bual Bicara' talk show on SelangorTV.

The 2025 Selangor Budget tabled on November 15 has allocated RM20 million to implement the scheme next year, benefiting 20,000 individuals aged 50 and above, as well as disabled persons.

Previously, the funeral aid for senior citizens under the Mesra Usia Emas scheme was discontinued in May 2019 before being resumed in 2021.
