SHAH ALAM, Dec 24 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has urged Selangor to sustain and build upon the progress it has achieved this year as it moves into 2025.
In his Christmas message today, he said the state has recorded a significant increase in investments between January and September this year, amounting to RM66.8 billion.
This is an increase of the RM25.3 billion approved investments recorded in the same period last year.
Amirudin said this achievement demonstrated the state’s ability to create quality job opportunities for its people.
“Investment of this scale means better quality and higher paying jobs for Selangorians across our core sectors of manufacturing, machinery, and services.
“As we look forward to the New Year, I believe it is a time to build on the values of growing together sustainably and on the progress we have made this year so that 2025 will be an even better year,” he said.
The Menteri Besar added that the state has made significant progress in its commitment to raising the economic baseline while expanding its growth potential.
On the upcoming Christmas celebration, Amirudin said the holiday season offers the people a perfect opportunity to spend time with the special individuals in their lives.
“Christmas is no different, especially to Christians in Selangor and across Malaysia who are putting the final touches to welcome this year’s festivities.
“To Christians, this season is especially significant as it reemphasises the importance of compassion, boundless love, of service above self, and of hope through that star which guided the three wise men towards the little town of Bethlehem,” he said.
Amirudin noted that the star often hung on Christmas trees by many Christians symbolises light and serves as a guiding beacon of hope for a better tomorrow.
“From my family to yours, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas,” he said.
