Selangor Sultan attends exhibit on formation of Malay-Muslim world

SHAH ALAM, Dec 21 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj recently paid a visit to an exhibit titled “Samudera Berbicara” on the formation of the Malay-Muslim world at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

According to a Selangor Royal Office statement on Facebook, the ruler was accompanied on the December 16 outing by Yayasan Albukhary chairman Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary.

“As a history and heritage lover, His Royal Highness was quite drawn to the artifacts, manuscripts and artwork in the exhibit, which focused on the motif transitions in heritage art of the Malay world, which has been rarely centred.

“His Royal Highness also liked the narrative of the Malay world as a maritime trade hub and international knowledge exchange centre once upon a time,” said the statement.

The Selangor Royal Office also said the exhibit will run until June 15.
