SHAH ALAM, Dec 18 — The Selangor International Book Fair (SIBF) 2024, organised by the Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS), has reinforced the state’s standing as a regional literacy centre.
PPAS corporate unit head Zafrullah Aris said the event has elevated local literary works to the international stage with the participation of global industry partners.
“Among the participating countries were Japan, India, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
“The selection of China as the focus country, marking the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations, and the involvement of the Russian Embassy via the Russian House in Kuala Lumpur, add significant international depth,” he said in a statement.
