SHAH ALAM, Dec 18 — Selangor’s Ihsan Madani Squad cleared some 97 tonnes of waste on their first day of post-flood relief operations in Kelantan yesterday, following the recent massive flooding in the state.
According to a mission report released by the State Disaster Management Unit yesterday, the squad conducted cleanup efforts at Taman Sri Bayu and Taman Sri Dalam Rhu, Tumpat, as assigned by the Tumpat District Council.
The operations, which ran from 8am to 3pm, involved 130 volunteers and 11 Roll On Roll Off (Roro) trucks.
The volunteers made 38 trips to remove flood debris from the designated areas.

On Monday, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari pledged RM500,000 to Kelantan to support recovery efforts following last month’s devastating floods that wreaked havoc across multiple states in the country.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the proposed funds will help alleviate Kelantan’s burden in repairing damaged infrastructure and facilities.
Beyond financial assistance, the state also mobilised a comprehensive relief effort via the Ihsan Madani Squad, comprising 130 local authority members and volunteers.
The squad has been dispatched to Kelantan with 45 vehicles, including tankers and Roro trucks.
Similarly, Selangor owned waste management firm, KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) has also deployed 21 staff members and five Roro lorries to support cleaning efforts in Kelantan.
