SABAK BERNAM, Dec 15 — More than one million domestic and international tourists are expected to visit the state’s northern corridor in conjunction with Visit Selangor Year 2025 (TMS2025).

State executive councillor for local government, tourism, and New Village development Dato’ Ng Suee Lim said this target is due to the existence of various attractive destinations stretching from Kuala Selangor to Sabak Bernam.

“Overall, we are targeting eight million tourists, but in the northern corridor of Selangor alone, we estimate more than one million visitors next year.

“There are many attractions, like the Sky Mirror in Kuala Selangor. Domestic and international tourists need not travel to Bolivia as we have this unique experience right here in Selangor,” he said.

Ng was speaking at the Fam Trip programme with media practitioners yesterday, organised by the Selangor Tourism EXCO Office and Tourism Selangor. During the event, he inaugurated Funtasi Land, which has opened at Pantai Redang in Sekinchan.

The Sekinchan state assemblyman said efforts are underway to develop the beach to make it more prominent and boost the income of local residents.

“Pantai Redang is relatively unknown compared to Pantai Morib. As a representative of the area, I want to develop this location to become a tourism hotspot, whether during the day or at night.

“With improvements like Funtasi Land, it will add vibrancy, allowing tourists to enjoy the seaside atmosphere in this fishing village,” he said.

In November, Ng announced that Selangor is targeting eight million tourists, with 40 per cent coming from abroad, as part of TMS2025.

He said Tourism Selangor is carrying out various promotional programmes both locally and internationally, using all platforms to showcase the state’s unique attractions.
