SUBANG JAYA, Dec 14 — More than 5,000 people of various ethnicities in Selangor came together to celebrate Christmas at an open house in Bandar Sunway today.
The event that lasted from 6.30pm to 10.30pm was also attended by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
At the function, visitors were presented to a feast of over 20 local and foreign dishes prepared for free by Hijrah Selangor and Platform Selangor.
The open house was enlivened with various exciting events, including a sign language performance by Acts Church, a tambourine dance, caroling, and a harmonica performance by the New Life Community Church.

Meanwhile, Tourism Selangor in a statement said that in conjunction with Christmas, the state government has given RM32,000 to five associations to strengthen its commitment to boosting unity and cooperation in the community.
The agency said that the state administration also plans to launch a series of programmes in each district to unite the state’s multiracial community.
“This effort is an initiative to encourage cooperation and understanding, and ensure Selangor continues to progress as the emblem of unity and cultural richness,” it said.
