GOMBAK, Dec 7 — The issue of strata ownership in Selangor can be resolved with the support of an initial RM10 million allocation from the Strata Resolution Fund, introduced under the 2025 Selangor Budget.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government aims to resolve 70 to 90 per cent of strata ownership issues within a few years.
“The state government is providing an initial RM10 million allocation next year to address strata-related issues, as these ownership problems are quite significant.
“With this intervention, we target to resolve around 70 to 90 per cent of strata ownership problems, particularly for cases where ownership was previously non-existent,” he said.
Amirudin was speaking to the press at the during the dual launch of JER and the Madani Cheapest Sale for the Central Zone in the Gombak Parliamentary constituency, at the Taman Pinggiran Batu Caves’ pasar malam site today.
While tabling the 2025 Selangor Budget on November 15, the Menteri Besar announced that RM10 million would be allocated next year as initial funding for the Strata Resolution Fund in Selangor.
He said the special allocation is intended to increase the resolution rate for developments without strata titles in the state, especially for schemes ineligible for funding from the Special Strata Title Ownership Fund.
An estimated RM100 million would be required over the next 10 years to fully resolve the identified strata schemes across Selangor.
Previously, Amirudin revealed that 138,000 strata housing units in Selangor face ownership issues, significantly affecting property and asset values.
