SHAH ALAM, Nov 28 — Five families affected by floods in the Paya Jaras state constituency have received cash assistance from Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI via the MBI Foundation.
MBI's chief executive officer Saipolyazan M Yusop said the contribution, amounting to RM500 for each family, will hopefully ease the recipients' burdens.
“The amount may be small, but we hope it will help lighten the load for the recipients and support them in continuing their lives.
“In addition, we have also provided laptops to three public higher education institution students from underprivileged families, to assist them in furthering their studies,” he said.
Saipolyazan was speaking to the press after handing over flood relief contributions and laptops at Dewan MPKK Kampung Paya Jaras Hilir yesterday.
The MBI Foundation has allocated RM1 million this year specifically to aid disaster victims, demonstrating the state government's commitment to helping those in need.
