SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 — As Malaysia and China commemorate five decades of diplomatic relations, the demand for investment from Chinese companies in Malaysia continues to increase.

Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB) chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim said the collaboration signed between the state subsidiary, Hebei Logistics Group Metal Materials Co. Ltd, Skyvast Sdn Bhd, and Sunhola Group Co., Ltd. strengthens Malaysia’s ties with China in boosting the logistics sector and attracting foreign investments, particularly in the sector.

“We have visited China several times to draw foreign investment to the state because Selangor is the centre of the country, where logistics ports and airports are located.

“Therefore, Selangor is the ideal location to set up a regional hub for warehousing and logistics,” he told the Selangor Journal after the memoranda of collaboration signing ceremony at the Concorde Hotel yesterday.

The partnership aims to attract foreign investments, particularly in warehousing and logistics, leveraging Selangor’s strategic location and infrastructure.

It is expected to create new business opportunities, strengthen regional connectivity, and further position Selangor as a key economic player in the region.

Sharir said the state is actively encouraging these investments, working closely with Invest Selangor Bhd to attract Chinese businesses to the state.

“With the 50-year diplomatic relationship between the nation and China, there is a lot of interest from Chinese companies to invest in the nation, and we welcome that,” he said.

Also present at the event were state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI group chief executive officer Saipolyazan M. Yusop, and Invest Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris.
