SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB) has signed two memoranda of collaboration (MoCs) with Chinese companies today.

The MoCs signed were with Hebei Logistics Group Metal Materials Co. Ltd and Skyvast, and another with Sunhola Group Co. Ltd. and Skyvast.

PNSB chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim said the MoCs signed reflects the continuation of strong collaboration between the Chinese government and its state-owned enterprises.

“It builds upon my recent working visit to Beijing and serves as a follow-up to the delegation’s engagement with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during his visit to Beijing.

“PNSB has also started a relationship with CICC Capital (China International Capital Corporation) to establish a venture capital fund called ‘China – Malaysia Synergy Fund’ worth US$100 million (RM446.2 million) that we hope to launch in early 2025,” he said in his welcoming remarks during the signing ceremonies at the Concorde Hotel.

Shahrir added that in February, PNSB hosted a delegation from China International Engineering Consulting Co. (CIECC) during their visit to the state.

“During that visit, we have inked a memorandum of collaboration with CIECC and with

FJCIECC, together with our partner, Skyvast Sdn Bhd, to deepen economic and trade

cooperation between China and Malaysia, specifically Selangor,” he said.

The MoC between PNSB, Sunhola Group, and Skyvast Sdn Bhd intends to enhance the food supply chain infrastructure in Selangor.

The partnership aims to establish a stable and sustainable food supply chain, focusing on

procurement, processing, logistics, and wholesale, among other areas.

Meanwhile, the second MoC signed by PNSB with Hebei Logistics Group Metal Materials Co. Ltd. and Skyvast is set to bolster trade efficiency and foster stronger economic ties between Malaysia and China.

The MoC outlines plans to establish a long-term, stable supply chain collaboration covering agent procurement, logistics, and distribution. It aims to create mutual investment opportunities, leveraging each party’s expertise in trade, logistics, and resource management.

The signing ceremonies were witnessed by Selangor State Secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim, state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han, Level Ⅱ Counsel of Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce and Hebei Provincial Government Delegation head Li Dongliang, and Skyvast chairman Shawn Tan.

Among others were Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI group chief executive officer Saipolyazan M. Yusop, Invest Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari

Idris, Yayasan Selangor acting chief Zaini Sulaiman, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority’s investment promotion executive director Faizal Jalaludin, and the Prime Minister’s Office’s functions officer Bryan Lew.
