SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — The state government is hosting its first education summit to showcase a comprehensive range of initiatives, including technical and vocational education and training as a promising career pathway.
Speaking in an interview with KoolFm today, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the inaugural Selangor Education Summit (SES), which will be held November 26 to December 1, highlights the state’s comprehensive education ecosystem, with over 35,000 graduates recorded in the state annually
“This provides an opportunity for everyone, including the community, to explore programmes ranging from small initiatives like the ‘Back to School’ programme — where we provide schoolbags to the students — to world-class education and technical vocational training,” he said.
Amirudin said it also includes Islamic religious education, such as the integration of maahad tahfiz science.
The SES will take place at Setia Alam Convention Centre here, and is set to welcome more than 300,000 visitors.
Amirudin said the summit also provides diverse opportunities, including formal and informal education programmes such as book fairs and competitions.
He said it caters to all age groups, from children to adults, covering early education, intervention programmes, and tertiary education.
“At the Selangor Education Summit, there will be numerous opportunities, including those focused on non-formal education.
“For instance, there will be book-related activities and competitions. The summit offers something for everyone, catering to all age groups and communities,” he added.
