SHAH ALAM, Nov 21 — A total of 254,606 Rumah Selangorku have been approved for construction over the past decade to help state residents own homes.

From the figure, 41,196 units involving 128 projects in which keys have been handed over to owners, 63 projects (26,667 units) under construction, and 257 projects (186,743 units) in the planning stage, said state executive councillor for housing and culture Borhan Aman Shah.

“All units, including the Rumah Idaman and Rumah Harapan categories, received high demand.

“This shows that the state government’s policy meets (the people’s needs) and was received well by all parties,” Borhan said in his wind-up for the 2025 Supply Bill at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly today.

He said the state executive council in October agreed to a 100 per cent exemption on developer fees as an incentive for developers to provide more affordable homes.

“The exemption has been made permanent… This will lower construction costs for affordable homes,” he said.

Borhan also said only one state project is troubled — Rumah Selangorku Sentoria in Morib, involving 778 units.

In May, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state wants to build 200,000 Rumah Selangorku units by 2028 to help residents own homes.
