SHAH ALAM, Nov 19 — A total of 112 strata title cases were successfully resolved by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) so far this year, said state executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah.

A special committee was formed to help identify and address properties lacking land titles.

"As of 2024, MBPJ has resolved 112 strata title cases, while 75 cases remain unresolved,” he said, adding that the committee has compiled a comprehensive inventory to focus on actionable projects.

"It (committee) aims to identify properties lacking proper documentation, such as approved building plans, which are necessary for applying for and issuing strata titles," Borhan said during the State Legislative Assembly session today.

He was responding to Kampung Tunku state assemblyman Lim Yi Wei’s query on the status of strata title cases in Petaling Jaya.

The task force has also identified a total of 649 projects involving approximately 138,817 units of houses across Selangor that have yet to obtain strata title ownership as of October 31.

Among these, six housing schemes with 50,890 units are classified as low-cost residential properties, while the remainder consists of freehold housing, commercial, and industrial properties.

Out of the 649 schemes, a total of 75 schemes involving 16,963 units are in Petaling Jaya.
