Speaking at the 2025 Selangor Budget’s tabling in the State Legislative Assembly today, he revealed that the Selangor Research Institute will lead the development of the white paper, which will examine AI's wide-ranging impact on the state's socioeconomic landscape.

“When referring to AI, there is undoubtedly a significant segment of society that is excited and views the future positively, seeing great potential in the development of AI.

“At the same time, we must acknowledge that there is another group of people who may feel anxious or concerned about becoming victims of automation technology or other potential risks,’’ Amirudin said.

The white paper will cover eight key areas, including government service efficiency, AI technology auditing, workforce integration, and measures to address income inequality and education gaps.

Meanwhile, Amirudin also announced a RM5 million allocation for the state’s Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT Selangor).

This initiative aims to enhance its cybersecurity measures through continuous audits and strategic monitoring across all government platforms.

“From hack-resistant systems to responsible data management, our state-operated systems must remain advanced and capable of proactive action,” Amirudin said.

CERT Selangor will expand its role in preventing cyber threats by implementing stricter controls over access to the Cybersecurity Operations Centre and onboarding government agencies to ensure information security.
