SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 — The Shah Alam City Council’s (MBSA) Car-Free Day today received encouraging response, with the participation of around 3,000 people.
MBSA community development director Shahrin Ahmad said all participants joined the 5km run around the city centre.
“This is a monthly event ... In addition to (promoting) recreation and exercise, this programme also preserves the quality of the environment.
“This programme brings significant benefits and will continue with various attractive mini events,” he said when met today.

Held at the Shah Alam Independence Square, the event included the presentation of food baskets from MBSB Bank to 100 underprivileged residents.
“They received basic necessities such as rice, oil, sugar, milk, flour, and (tinned) sardines worth RM100,” he said.
