SUBANG JAYA, Nov 1 — Slope stabilisation work at the landslide area in Taman Wawasan was fully completed on Monday (October 28).
Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han said the project, costing RM12.2 million and fully funded by the developer Wawasan Indera Sdn Bhd, involved two phases.
“The temporary stabilisation phase, which ran from December 17, 2023, to February 20, involved repairing an 83-metre monsoon drain and installing 775 steel sheet piles.

"Following that, the permanent stabilisation phase from May 13 to October 24 included road reconstruction, monsoon drain repair, and fixing structural damage to affected homes,” he said at a press conference today.
Ng said that all affected residents are allowed to return to their homes starting today.
He added that the incident area has been declared disaster-free after taking into account the views of the Petaling District Disaster Management Committee and reviewing reports from the Subang Jaya City Council's (MBSJ) Engineering Division.
“Throughout the repair works, MBSJ provided temporary shelter (to the affected residents) at Pangsapuri Permata Sarim in Taman Wawasan.
"Others stayed in hotels or with family members. However, all of them are now allowed to return to their homes,” Ng said.
“Selebihnya iaitu menginap di hotel dan tinggal bersama keluarga lain. Namun, mereka telah pulang ke kediaman masing-masing hari ini,” kongsinya.
On December 16 last year, 29 residents from nine terrace houses in the area were ordered to evacuate for safety reasons following a landslide near their homes.
The landslide, which occurred along Jalan Wawasan 3/9 and 3/14 at 7.30pm, also buried four vehicles, though no casualties were reported.
