KLANG, Oct 28 — A total of 500 Rahmah Digital Coupons worth RM10 were distributed to the public at the Deepavali bazaar on Jalan Tengku Kelana, here yesterday.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the distribution of the coupons, in conjunction with the Platform Selangor (PLATS) Deepavali Bazaar Tour, aims to encourage the digitalisation of businesses among traders.
“The move is part of the shift towards digitalisation, encouraging traders to register with PLATS and use online platforms for payment gateways. I believe the initiative will open doors for traders to enter the digital era to market their goods.
“We will continue with our efforts because the smart state vision is not only about the latest technology but also its practical use among the people,” he said when met after visiting the bazaar
During his visit, Amirudin spent around 45 minutes meeting and interacting with traders and bazaar-goers and also distributed money packets to children.
Previously, Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI) chief executive officer Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor announced that 40,333 micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs have registered with PLATS since its launch in 2020.
He said the state government aims to see 50,000 traders join PLATS by next year.
