SHAH ALAM, Oct 27 — Thirty small and medium enterprise owners from Selangor joined the central region One District, One Industry Showcase (SDSI) at the Petaling District Government Office Complex here yesterday.
State executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said the event, held by the Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Ministry (Kuskop), gathered entrepreneurs from Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan as well, letting them build networks and expand their businesses.
Najwan added that the three-day programme, which ends tomorrow, is the best stage for entrepreneurs running businesses in food and beverages, health, craft, and homestays to promote their products and services.

“Thank you to Kuskop for organising this programme and choosing Petaling as its host. May it expand to other districts in the future.
“This programme can indirectly help all entrepreneurs involved to build their business networks,” he said in his speech.
The central region SDSI was also attended by Deputy Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.
During his launch speech, Ramanan said other than buying SDSI entrepreneurs’ products and services, attendees can also purchase essential items at the Madani Entrepreneur Cooperative Sale, with discounts of up to 50 per cent, held in conjunction with Deepavali.

“We expect more than 3,000 buyers at this sale over the three-day period. Kuskop hopes the SDSI Showcase can enliven entrepreneur and cooperative activities in the central region and enhance entrepreneurs’ competitiveness,” he said.
Other than the sale, attendees stand the chance to enjoy 50 per cent discounts on Royal Malaysia Police summons.
The programme also features food trucks and Madani Anekarasa sales that centre various unique and popular food items.

The SDSI targets the widening of business links between entrepreneurs and buyers, distributors, marketing agents, stockists, importers, and local and foreign major retailers.
The showcase also aims to provide a quality product and service marketing medium, bringing awareness and enhancing access and financing opportunities to entrepreneurs.
