SHAH ALAM, Oct 18 — The Raja Tun Uda Library located in Section 13, has been listed among the 10 most beautiful libraries in Asia, according to a survey by SeaAsia Stats.

The state library, inaugurated in 2011, ranked 10th and is the only library from Malaysia to make the list.

The survey, published on SeaAsia Stats' official social media platform yesterday, recognised the Rotunda Library in Singapore as the top-ranked, followed by the National Library of Indonesia in second place, and the Starfield Library in Seoul, South Korea in third.

Standing six storeys high at a total area of 203,600 square feet, the Raja Tun Uda Library was designed with a blend of vibrant colours and contemporary architecture.

Managed by the Selangor Public Library Corporation, the library houses over 400,000 books and can accommodate up to 8,000 visitors at a time.

Its construction at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf Club was inspired by the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, who envisioned a garden-themed library.
