AMPANG JAYA, Oct 13 — Two neighbourhoods in Ampang are at risk of landslides, said Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail.
She said the two neighbourhoods are Kampung Dato’ Mufti Shuib and Kampung Bukit Sungai Puteh.
“There is no problem with flooding as preparations have been made and various preventive measures have been undertaken by many agencies, including the state government, which has provided ample allocations to deepen rivers and (strengthen) riverbanks.
“We instead worry about landslides, especially in residential areas. This time, we are focusing on Kampung Dato’ Mufti Shuib and Kampung Bukit Sungai Puteh,” she said when met at the Ampang edition of World Rivers Day.
She reminded residents to be aware of their environment.
“If they see signs of troubled slopes, don’t hesitate to contact local authorities so early actions can be taken.
“Local authorities have special disaster management committees for slope management that work efficiently,” she said.
