SHAH ALAM, Oct 9 — Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, has allocated RM150,000 to ensure the welfare of children rescued from GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) in this state.
Yayasan MBI chief Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the funds were for learning materials, beds, tables, formula milk, and food, as well as other needs.
“Yesterday, the state government said Yayasan MBI has established a special team to look into a specific rehabilitation programme for GISBH children.
“We are bearing the responsibility and will try our best to ensure these children are comfortable and can be rehabilitated successfully,” he told Selangorkini.
The special team will be chaired by state executive councillor for Islam and innovation Dr Fahmi Ngah and state executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari, and comprise representatives from the Royal Malaysia Police, Social Welfare Department, Selangor Education Department, Selangor Zakat Board, Selangor Islamic Religious Council, Selangor Islamic Religious Department, Yayasan MBI, Yayasan Selgate, and child psychology and education experts.
The team will focus on rehabilitation methods, addressing not only issues of aqidah, but also welfare, health, and mental and physical development.
