More ETS coaches to run during Deepavali

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) will provide two more electric train service (ETS) coaches for the KL Sentral-Padang Besar route and return trips in conjunction with the Deepavali holiday.

In a statement today, KTMB said the additional trains will operate from October 30 to November 3, with ticket sales starting 10am tomorrow.

“These additional trains will offer 630 tickets daily, with a total of 3,150 available, including for business class coaches.

“The extra trains are to accommodate high demand during the festive season, and to help reduce traffic congestion as people return to their hometowns,” the statement read.

KTMB encouraged the public to buy tickets on the KTMB Mobile app or its website, and to make payments using the KTM Wallet for faster purchases.

Customers were advised to plan their journeys ahead and buy tickets early to enjoy flexible fares.

It said passengers should arrive early at the station as gates are closed five minutes before departure.
