SHAH ALAM, Oct 9 — State road maintenance concessionaire Infrasel Sdn Bhd has patched 25,125 roads between January and September.
It said 259 complaints about damaged roads were received in that period, compared with 156 in 2023, 194 in 2022, and 105 in 2021.
In a Facebook post, the agency said it has patched 117,443 potholes from 2021 to September 2024.
Infrasel said it patched 32,840 roads in Kuala Selangor, 17,687 in Klang, 15,396 in Sabak Bernam, 14,475 in Petaling, 13,686 in Kuala Langat, 8,661 in Hulu Langat, 8,542 in Sepang, 4,395 in Gombak, and 1,761 in Hulu Selangor.
“Infrasel and the Selangor Works Department will continue efforts to ensure the best in road infrastructure for the safety and comfort of users,” it said.

The agency also encouraged the public to post road-related complaints to X with the hashtags #Infrasel, #[insert road name], and #[insert district].
Earlier, state executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Izham Hashim said RM20 million had been allocated for the Mega Patching Project 2.0 this year, with works focused on roads that need immediate maintenance to ensure user safety.
Patching works involve roads managed by local authorities, districts, and the Works Department.
Last year, the Selangor government spent RM50 million for the large-scale patching of roads, covering maintenance and widening works, to facilitate residents’ movement.
