SHAH ALAM, Oct 8 — The state government has allocated over RM200,000 in grants to encourage greater innovation among students and civil servants.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the allocation includes the Selangor Digital Technology and Innovation Grant worth RM120,000, the Commercialisation and Intellectual Property Grant (RM50,000), and other grants (RM40,000).
"Through this initiative, creative thinking and innovation can be highlighted, leading to the development of various innovations that benefit the people.
"The grant allocation helps the administration solve problems through digital technology innovation, ensuring a better quality of life and added comfort in daily living," he said when officiating the Selangor Innovation Festival yesterday.
Amirudin added that the culture of innovation should not end with the creation of products but should be further developed for commercialisation and intellectual property protection.
During the event, state executive councillor for Islamic affairs and cultural innovation Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah said Selangor is focused on enhancing innovation in the public service sector by next year, in line with current technological needs and developments.
He said initiatives within state administration offices, subsidiaries, agencies, and local authorities are designed to offer services that simplify life for the people.
