Swimmer Natalie Bianca scores Selangor’s first Para Sukma 2024 gold

SHAH ALAM, Sept 23 — Natalie Bianca Edmund Dass has secured Selangor’s first gold at the Para Sarawak Malaysian Games (Para Sukma) in the women’s 100m breaststroke event.

The 21-year-old swimmer performed impressively at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre in Petra Jaya, Sarawak, finishing in 3:57.65s. She outpaced Kuala Lumpur’s Naznyn Nazlee Hadanee, who took second place with a time of 4:11.94s.

Penang swimmer Nur Farah Umaira Shariff Afini won bronze with a time of 4:31.74s, while Sabah’s Sharlinie Valerie Voo Wen Qin finished fourth.

As at 1pm, Selangor has collected five medals — one gold, one silver, and three bronze.

Selangor’s first silver was won by Muhammad Aizam Balqish Mohd Daniel Dangis in the men’s javelin throw.

Selangor hopes to take home 29 gold and secure a top three finish in the biennial games, which kicked off yesterday and end on September 28.
