MBI Foundation looks to channel haj aid digitally to prevent leakages

By Fitri Hazim Hazam

SHAH ALAM, Sept 20 — The Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI Foundation will explore the use of digital methods for distributing the Muassasah Haj Incentive to pilgrims.

Its head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said this approach could prevent leakages in the distribution of aid and ensure the assistance reaches the pilgrims promptly.

“One of the initial steps by the MBI Foundation is to collaborate with Tabung Haji (TH) Selangor to replace the current method, where aid is distributed through programmes and events at the respective state constituency service centres.

“TH Selangor will provide debit cards to enable pilgrims to access funds more quickly and make purchases easily while in the Holy Land,” he told Media Selangor yesterday.

Azri added that they will work with TH Selangor to promote this incentive, ensuring that no pilgrims miss out on the assistance provided by the state government.

“Next year, the MBI Foundation will be given a slot during the main Haj course to explain the incentive. This is to ensure that there are no more issues of information not reaching the pilgrims, as everyone will be present.

“Another collaboration involves distributing brochures containing information about the assistance at all TH Selangor branch offices,” he said.
