JAKARTA, Sept 17 — The Indonesian Parliament's key budget committee has approved the incoming government's budget today, said its chair Said Abdullah.
The budget stands at 3,621.31 trillion rupiah (over RM1 trillion) in total spending, with a fiscal deficit forecast at 2.53 per cent of the gross domestic product.
In August, the outgoing government, which has been working with the economic team of President-elect Prabowo Subianto, had proposed a budget with spending of 3,613.06 trillion rupiah (over RM1 trillion).
The budget assumes economic growth at 5.2 per cent and headline inflation at 2.5 per cent.
The budget committee's decision is expected to be approved by a wider Parliamentary vote at a later date.
