SHAH ALAM, Sept 11 — The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) is developing a 300-acre grain corn collection centre in Tanjung Sepat, Kuala Langat.

PKPS chief executive officer Datuk Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said the centre, which is currently 30 per cent complete, will be equipped with drying and decomposition machines, as well as storage facilities with a capacity of approximately 200 tonnes.

"The grain corn harvest is ongoing, and the crop yields are showing positive growth," he said when contacted, adding that PKPS plans to further expand its grain corn initiative.

Khairil revealed that a PKPS delegation will visit Sabah in the near future to discuss expanding high-quality grain corn farming.

“We have held discussions before this and a working paper has also been prepared. Sabah has shown interest in advancing this collaboration, and we will inspect potential cultivation sites soon,” he said.

In January, PKPS harvested 118 tonnes of high-quality grain corn, an initiative aimed at reducing reliance on imported chicken feed, to stabilise and lower chicken prices in Selangor.
