KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, granted an audience to Indonesia’s president-elect Prabowo Subianto, a long-time friend, at Istana Negara today.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim's Facebook page, His Majesty's friendship with Prabowo spans over 40 years, beginning during their joint military training at Fort Bragg in the United States.
During their nearly hour-long meeting, the King and Prabowo, currently the Defence Minister, exchanged views on various current regional and international issues.
Prabowo is expected to assume leadership of the Indonesian government from President Joko Widodo next month.
