SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 — Approximately 41,000 Rumah Idaman units will be built in phases until 2028 to help Selangor's residents own affordable and comfortable homes.
Each housing unit will include furniture, a television, a refrigerator, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, a water heater, and air conditioning.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the homes are being developed in strategic and high-potential areas, thereby increasing home ownership among the people.
“We are targeting this number by 2028. So far, about 4,000 units have been built through a collaboration between Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) and Gagasan Nadi Cergas Berhad,” he said.
Speaking to the press after officiating the groundbreaking ceremony for the Rumah Idaman Amani project in Bandar Elmina yesterday, Amirudin said it is the third joint project between PNSB and Gagasan Nadi Cergas Berhad to construct Rumah Idaman units.
“After launching Rumah Idaman Bukit Jelutong involving 1,260 housing units and Idaman Kwasa Damansara Phase One with approximately 1,800 units, we are launching 1,063 Idaman Amani units in Bandar Elmina today,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gagasan Nadi Cergas chairman Muhamad Fuad Abdullah said the company is committed to supporting and fulfilling the state government's aspirations and targets.
“The Idaman Bukit Jelutong project, comprising 1,260 units, has now reached nearly 70 per cent completion and is expected to be fully finished by the end of next year,” he said.
The Rumah Idaman Amani project, consisting of 1,063 partially furnished affordable apartment units, will be built in Bandar Elmina.
Scheduled for completion by 2028, Gagasan Nadi Cergas is collaborating with PNSB's subsidiary PNSB Construction Sdn Bhd to develop the project.
Rumah Idaman Amani will be developed on an 8.9-acre site and will offer three-bedroom, partially furnished units with a built-up area of 1,000 to 1,120 square feet, starting at RM250,000 per unit.
