PUTRAJAYA, Sept 2 — The construction of SK Cyberjaya 2 has begun, and will be completed in 2027, said the Education Ministry (MOE).
In a statement today, the MOE said the new school, with 36 classrooms and various facilities, will alleviate overcrowding at nearby schools.
“The MOE is proactively addressing the issue of overcrowding in schools across the country through various measures, including the construction of cabin classrooms, the introduction of floating classes, and the relocation of students to nearby schools,” it said.
The ministry also said that this year, the government has approved the construction of 26 new schools nationwide.
Earlier, 12 prefabricated cabin classrooms, along with renovations, wiring, furniture, equipment and toilets, were handed over to SK Cyberjaya.
During the handover ceremony of the cabin/modular IBS classrooms at SK Cyberjaya today, the contractor formally presented the completed project to the school and the Sepang Education Office, witnessed by MOE secretary-general Datuk Nik Nasarudin Mohd Zawawi.
The project worth RM2 million is expected to provide a short-term solution to overcrowding at SK Cyberjaya, while enhancing the comfort and learning environment for students and teachers.
