AMPANG JAYA, Aug 31 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has urged the state’s Orang Asli community to prioritise their health and seek medical attention promptly, especially for critical illnesses.
He emphasised the importance of regular health check-ups and vaccinations to ensure the well-being of the minority community.
"Don’t be afraid. Go and see a doctor for a health check-up. This is essential to ensure you remain in good health.
"Additionally, get basic healthcare needs like vaccinations. This is crucial to safeguard your health and ensure you receive the appropriate treatment," he said during the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples celebration and health carnival at the Kemensah Orang Asli Village, here, today.
The Gombak MP also reassured residents that various facilities would be provided to enhance their comfort and quality of life.
"There will be improvements, such as street lighting. Former assemblyman Saari Sungip has already repaired the roads.
"In September, we will deliver a PA (public address) system for the community's use, and it will be installed at the community hall for everyone to utilise," he added.
During the programme, Amirudin observed health screenings conducted by health officers from the Gombak Orang Asli Hospital for the village residents.
He also distributed food baskets to the residents and participated in a mini Independence Day celebration organised by the community.
