LHDN encourages taxpayers to use e-Services

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 — The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) is encouraging taxpayers to use its e-Services system.

Kuala Lumpur LHDN public relations officer Mohammad Nasrul Izzati Zahari emphasised taxpayers can manage their affairs more quickly, securely, and from anywhere via e-Services.

“It reduces your travel time and costs while providing convenient access to your records and documents at any time.

“This is a smart move to enhance the efficiency of your financial management. Don’t hesitate to switch to LHDN’s e-Services today,” he said in a statement today.

Nasrul said e-Services includes online tax services provided by the LHDN, that enables taxpayers to access these services without the need for a physical visit to LHDN offices.

“The use of LHDN’s e-Services has been gradually made mandatory since September 1 last year to instil the elements of Awareness, Education, and Services (AES),” said Mohammad Nasrul Izzati Zahari.

“All online tax services are consolidated on a single platform, the MyTax portal,” he added.

Nasrul added that MyTax includes e-Filing and ByrHASiL, and taxpayers will receive notifications if there are payments due or if they fail to submit their Income Tax Return Forms via e-Filing.

He noted that MyTax also allows taxpayers to check their travel ban status before going abroad.

“In addition, MyTax stores taxpayers’ personal information, including their Tax Identification Number (TIN), details of the LHDN office handling their file, and payment records such as monthly tax deductions and outstanding tax balances.

“Taxpayers can download the MyTax app on their smartphones or tablets for convenient access. New taxpayers need to register for a TIN through e-Daftar and request a PIN from the MyTax portal. Registration can be completed via e-KYC (using a selfie) or e-CP55D (by providing the required information such as a registered email address).

He explained that existing taxpayers can access the MyTax portal using their identification card number, military number, police number, or passport number along with their password.

“If you forget your password, you can reset it using your registered email. If the email is no longer in use, a new email can be registered through the Customer Feedback Form available on the website,” he said.
