SHAH ALAM, Aug 26 — Water supply to areas affected by an unscheduled cut due to the temporary shutdown of the Sungai Bernam water treatment plant (WTP) has fully recovered as of 11pm last night, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said.
The suspension of the plant’s operations was following high turbidity of raw water in the river as a result of water surges.
“Air Selangor would like to express its sincere gratitude to customers for the patience and cooperation during this period of unscheduled water supply disruption,” it said in an update late last night.
Consumers can obtain more information on the Air Selangor water updates website, the Air Selangor app, its Facebook, Instagram and X pages, by calling the company at 15300, or visiting its website.
Air Selangor first reported on the supply disruption on Saturday following flash floods in the area.
The temporary water cut affected users in parts of the Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam districts.
The Sungai Bernam WTP was back fully operational yesterday noon, with clean treated water being channelled back to users in phases.
