SHAH ALAM, Aug 23 — To raise awareness and momentum for Visit Selangor Year 2025, the state administration hosted the inaugural Selangor Travel Mart, gathering key players from the tourism industry to boost tourism in the state.
The event, held last Thursday (August 15) at the Royale Chulan Damansara, saw a record attendance of 400 local and international travel agents and buyers, all focused on promoting Selangor’s diverse tourism offerings.
Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Azrul Shah Mohamad said Selangor Travel Mart serves as a crucial platform to showcase the state's rich tourism potential.
"The success of this event is a promising indicator of our state's ability to draw international attention during Visit Selangor Year 2025," he said in a statement yesterday.
Selangor Travel Mart is also expected to play a key role in achieving the target of welcoming 8 million tourists to the state in 2025
The event attracted buyers from 30 countries, including major markets like Indonesia, Singapore, the Maldives, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, China, and more.
Among the featured attractions were Gamuda Land Play, Sky Mirror Tours and Travel, Selangor Fruit Valley, Jumpstreet Asia, Chocolate Museum, Farm Fresh, Eastin Hotel, Mardhiyyah Hotel and Suites, Mercure Hotel Glenmarie, and Fraser Valley.
