KUCHING, Aug 21 — Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah today visited the state contingent to the Malaysian Games (Sukma) athletes’ village at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) in Kota Samarahan here.
His Highness was greeted at 3.10pm by Unimas deputy vice-chancellor (student affairs and alumni) Prof Al-Khalid Othman and Selangor executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi.
Also in the greeting party were Selangor deputy secretary (management) and Selangor Sukma contingent deputy chief Dato’ Mohd Yazid Sairi, Selangor State Sports Council (MSNS) Dato’ Abd Hamid Hussain, and MSNS executive director Mohamad Nizam Marjugi.

During the hour-long visit, Tengku Amir Shah met state athletes and gave them words of encouragement so they may continue to do their best in the biennial event and make Selangor proud.
His Highness also congratulated those who completed their goals in their respective events, and posed for photos with the athletes.
Before leaving, Tengku Amir Shah visited a rehabilitation centre where medical and physiological experts were stationed to facilitate treatments for injured athletes.
Opened on August 12, the village houses about 150 athletes including footballers, basketballers, hockey players and cricketers, while other athletes stay near the arenas in which they compete.
Other amenities provided include ice bath areas, massage services, and thrice-daily meals.
