SHAH ALAM, Aug 20 — Selangor is determined to support the Federal government's aspirations in successfully implementing the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35), thereby providing continuous benefits to the state's development and progress.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said that Selangor would also ensure that the aspirations within PuTERA35 are successfully implemented for the people's well-being.
“PuTERA35 is a comprehensive plan spanning over a decade, which is not exclusively for the Bumiputera but also benefits other communities.
“It has been developed to encourage Bumiputera participation in the economic sector, improving their standards and quality of life, and narrowing the economic gap between the ethnic groups in Malaysia,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.
Amirudin added that preparing PuTERA35 also takes into account the views from the Bumiputera Economic Congress 2024, involving the concerted efforts of all stakeholders from the public and private sectors, including non-Bumiputera groups.
Yesterday, the government launched PuTERA35, a new direction as a proactive step to elevate Bumiputera's status and dignity.
The plan proposes three pillars in line with the Madani Economy framework: strengthening the foundation of the national economy, reinforcing governance and institutions, and upholding social justice.
Its goal is to develop dynamic and futuristic Bumiputera, to address current and future issues and challenges, while also setting clear targets for participation, ownership, and control in the economy.
PuTERA35 will also develop a more effective monitoring mechanism by assigning responsibility to parties involved in the implementation of each initiative concerning Bumiputera.
