KUCHING, Aug 17 — Selangor and Sarawak secured their spots in the semi-finals of the men’s T20 cricket competition at the 2024 Malaysia Games (Sukma) after impressive victories in their final group matches today.
At the Petra Jaya Cricket and Rugby Ground, Selangor cruised past Sabah with a commanding eight-wicket win, while Sarawak outclassed last year’s runners-up Federal Territories with a dominant 77-run margin.
Selangor will face Kelantan in the semi-finals, while Sarawak will go head-to-head with Terengganu.
In another match, Kedah missed out on a semi-final berth despite a seven-wicket victory over Johor.
The T20 final is set for Monday (August 19).
Cricket, which kicked off on Tuesday (August 13), offers two gold medals in the men’s and women’s categories.
