KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 — The salary adjustment for civil servants, announced by the government today, are expected to inspire public servants to carry out their duties with greater diligence and integrity.
It is also viewed as a form of appreciation for civil servants, who have made significant contributions to the country.
In Kelantan, Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohamed Fadzli Hassan said the salary adjustments align with the current challenges faced by the public, particularly the rising cost of living.
“Thank you for this initiative, which will undoubtedly provide some relief to those who benefit from it.
“We also hope that additional comprehensive measures will be considered, to alleviate the burden on those without a fixed salary, and other segments of society,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.
In Perlis, the State Secretary’s Office's (SUK) Information Technology Management Division secretary Rozita Osman expressed her deep gratitude to the Prime Minister. After 20 years of service as a civil servant, this is the highest promotion she has received.
“Alhamdulillah, this is a tremendous boost for us (civil servants) to enhance our skills and maintain our integrity,” she told the press after watching the live broadcast of the 19th Civil Service Premier Assembly, delivered by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
At the ceremony, Anwar announced a 15 per cent salary adjustment for civil servants in the Implementing, Management and Professional groups, and seven per cent for those in the Top Management group.
The salary adjustment will be implemented in phases, starting from December 1 for Phase One, and from January 1, 2026, for Phase Two.
Meanwhile, the Perlis SUK's Corporate Communication Unit assistant administrative officer Mohd Khairul Ishak is committed to working with greater dedication.
He plans to focus on punctuality, discipline, and improving his communication skills, following the announcement.
