PUTRAJAYA, Aug 15 — The Communications Ministry has received RM4.09 million in sponsorships from 29 strategic partners for the National Day Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations this year.
Its minister Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the 2024 HKHM Main Committee chairman, said the sponsorships include RM2.06 million worth of decorated vehicles for the National Day parade.
“Cash sponsorship will be channelled into the National Day Trust Account, which is to be used to prepare for the HKHM celebrations.
“In-kind sponsorship, on the other hand, will be distributed by our volunteers to members of the public attending the National Day celebration at the Putrajaya Square on Aug 31,” he said at the presentation ceremony of the sponsorships today.
Also present were Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa and representatives of the ministry’s strategic partners.
Fahmi said that in-kind sponsorships, especially in the forms of goods like food and beverages, t-shirts, caps, shopping vouchers, and other merchandise including flags, hand fans, umbrellas, tumblers, and bags, would definitely bring cheer to the people.
“I do hope that the sponsorships from the private sector and industry players will not stop here, but to continue in the future.
“I also hope that this strong strategic cooperation between the public and private sectors will also continue for the sake of the prosperity of the beloved nation of Malaysia,” he said.
