PETALING JAYA, Aug 15 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is collaborating with private developer HCK Capital Group Berhad to develop a smart city to empower low-carbon cities.

PKNS deputy chief executive officer (development) Md Kamarzan Md Rais said the e-Sentral SmartCity in Subang Perdana is being developed on 10 acres of land based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

“This is the first time PKNS is collaborating with HCK, and it is their first smart city. Through this collaboration, PKNS holds a 30 per cent stake in the project, and the development will be carried out according to a mutually agreed plan.

“PKNS always welcomes collaboration with other developers in developing other smart cities that are equipped with various amenities,” he said in an interview after the groundbreaking ceremony at the e-Sentral Property Gallery today.

Meanwhile, HCK Group managing director Datuk Dennis Ling said the smart city, which is divided into two phases, will be developed starting next month.

This new project will become a landmark in the property market, highlighting the smart city concept with natural elements combined with existing technology.

“The selection of Subang Perdana is due to its strategic location adjacent to a forest. With the development of this smart city, it is part of the plan towards a low-carbon city.

“We are offering 3,000 units across both phases, with prices ranging from RM300,000 to RM550,000. The first phase will begin development next month, and the entire project is expected to be completed within three and a half years,” he said.
