PETALING JAYA, Aug 6 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will hold 23 exciting events until September 22 in conjunction with Merdeka month.
Mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon said these programmes aim to ignite the National Day spirit among Petaling Jaya residents and foster strong unity and a sense of belonging.
“We invite everyone to participate in the programmes and proudly fly the Jalur Gemilang,” he said when met after launching Petaling Jaya’s Jalur Gemilang Campaign in conjunction with the 67th National Day at MBPJ here yesterday.

Among the key events scheduled is a patriotic singing competition, Jalur Gemilang decoration contest, PJ Half Marathon, PJ Indoor Smart Golf, Eco Free Market, and jogathon and walkathon.
Earlier, Zahri distributed 2,000 Malaysia flags to MBPJ’s strategic partners, including the Social Welfare Department, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, schools, and various associations.
The mayor encouraged Petaling Jaya residents to fly the Jalur Gemilang throughout the National Month as a show of patriotism and love for the country.
