SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — SACC Mall will be upgraded to a world-class exhibition centre from the first quarter of 2026.
The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) said upgrading works to the mall are part of the SA Sentral development project in Seksyen 14.
It said the phasic SA Sentral project will take a decade to complete.
“It involves several plots in Seksyen 14, including the SACC Convention Centre, and the upgrading and rebranding of Plaza Alam Sentral and Plaza Perangsang.
“PKNS plans to develop SA Sentral to rejuvenate the city centre of Seksyen 14, Shah Alam, as a central business district on a 64.7ha site.
“SA Sentral will comprise residential, commercial and office developments, a recreational park, a library, a Light Rail Transit station, and the international exhibition centre,” it said.
PKNS added that SA Sentral will house a cultural and tourism centre under The Spine project in Seksyen 14.
“This is to create a cultural and arts hub to maintain elements of Malay traditions and a local trade centre.
“The Spine will connect PKNS Complex Shah Alam, Shah Alam Convention Centre, and upcoming development projects such as high-rises, residences and hotels,” it explained.
PKNS said its plans to develop SA Sentral are part of its transformation initiative.
