SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — As at 8am today, 143 flood victims are sheltering at the SK Sungai Selisik multipurpose hall in Hulu Selangor.
The Social Welfare Department’s InfoBencana portal revealed the displaced victims were from six villages in Hulu Bernam, which were hit with flash floods yesterday evening.
Yesterday, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said his division received a call about the incident at 5.50pm.
He said the villages inundated are Kampung Sungai Selisik, Kampung Serigala, Kampung Sungai Nilam, Kampung Sekolah, Kampung Masjid and Kampung Paya Lebar, with waters as high as 0.3m.
